Members of the Ambalakadav Kudumbam were originated from the Brahmin family, Pakalomattom, into christianity by the Apostle St. Thomas.

The Kudumbam migrated from Kuravilangad and landed near
Ambalam(temple) Kadav, thus Ambalakadav, at Kurichy.
